Remember this pic? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24640534/ This is the followup to that pic at the very end of the challenge where Ruby had finally succeeded after 20 seasons and weeks upon weeks of irl time to get the job done, hug-holding her best driver at the time while crying with joy and holding up the trophy she had worked so hard to get. As a little bonus, which I'm sure 1% or less will care about/understand, are notes I did of some races in the last 2 seasons of the challenge.
Now, before I copypaste, here are some details that'll make it easier for people to understand it all, just in case. My savefile was of me being in the #1 WORST team in the whole game, which I had the task to get from last in the lowest series, to first of what's essentially F1. The strategy was to take advantage of me being at the bottom to collect money to upgrade my HQ to max so I could steamroll my way to the top way easier than just doing it regularly. It took 10 in-game seasons to get the money I required, and after that money was never again any problem til I beat the challenge in season 20. Each team have 2 main drivers which I can hire/fire as I see is the best for the team. The two drivers I had for the last few seasons were named Hishida from japan, and Wilson from canada. Wilson had been with my team since she joined around season 15, and Hishida was a very good driver I had found just the other season that I immedietly saw the potential in him. My main rival team in F1 was Rossini, which represent the classic irl Ferrari, and their main, best driver's name is Yin... and Yin and Rossini, they were good. VERY good! If I could just overcome those, I would succeed. Copy paste time!
Amazing Sydney race - Season 19
The qualifying had a short dip of dry track which would be impossible for the opponent AI to take advantage of, so I waited for the perfect time to do that and both Hishida and Wilson scored really good times... however they somehow still ended up 2nd and 3rd, Rossini is OP pls nerf. Due to the weather during qualifying, one of the worse drivers Phan had a good starting position as well. Race time, and I saw that the whole race was going to be inters with wets for the last 20-ish%. Hishida did an AMAZING start and pulled away immedietly with Wilson sadly struggling the whole race ending up 6th. However I noticed that Phan had also gotten a good start and got ahead of the pack into 2nd position. This made him block and slow down all the opposing cars to the point of Hishida getting a 8.5 second lead before Yin, the one that scored pole, got past him. Because Yin had spent so long trying to get past Phan however, his tyres were worn down and he couldn't push or attack, while Hishida still could! So the distance only shrank by 1 second total over the next 10-ish laps. Yin went into pits first and slapped on the wet tyres... way before the track would benefit them! With Hishida taking advantage of his inters as long as possible, he built up a 50! Fucking! Second! Lead! Into the pit, slapping on the wets and he still had well over half a minute lead! He then cruised to the finish line and got us our first and only victory the entire season.
First super easy win of the last season - Japan season 20
The practise wasn't too interesting aside from some rain at the very start... which actually was a good idea to get inters knowledge. Qualifying was the usual one-point-dry which gave me 2nd and 3rd behind Yin again. Race was first 15 laps out of 25 dry with rest inters. Put on softs instead of supersofts and made sure they lasted for 15 laps. Yin and everyone at the top 10 went with SS tyres, idiots. Kept 2nd and 4th until lap 15 where they had a 6 second distance and pitted at the same time, while everyone else went with mediums, softs and supers, idiots. Yin stayed out on mediums for several laps and went into pits in 4th, ending up 8th and last of the non-lapped cars. Hishida and Wilson both cruised on neutral and back up until the end without ANY issues at all. Also it was Hishida's homerace which gave him quite the boost in morale!
Wilson, I'm done with you - Canada season 20
The practise and most of the race wasn't too interesting, but at the 6th or so last lap, Wilson crashed, and Hishida had to make do with the supersofts until the end of the race. He had very little durability left on them, and when the safety car left, he HAD TO push as hard as he could until the end to get a better position... but on the last lap, his tyres went below 20% and he ended up 8th with just 1 point. Due to Wilson having crashed several times over the seasons, she had resource hog, was on the decline on her skills and that she had ruined this race forcing Hishida to rush like that, I had enough of her shit and replaced her before the next race. Very recently before then, I had found an 18 year old driver that had a flat 5-star potential and very quick improvement speed. She won her first race and did podium a few more times after that, but Wilson admittedly had a good long run. Especially since she reached 37 before her skills started to decrease. (The general age cap is 35 or earlier)
The last race of season 20 was in Russia, and it was very special... but I forgot to take notes, which means I can only tell these very small details... I had won the championship already with my team, but to win the challenge I ALSO had to win the drivers championship. For the last race, Hishida had to come 6th or better provided that Yin won the race. As expected, Yin did win the race, but Hishida blew my expectations out the window when he ended up 3rd in the race, and a challenge I had spent weeks upon weeks on was finally over, my tears of joy similar to that of Ruby's.
Also got the colors right on Ruby's shirt this time, if you read the edit on the bottom of previous part's desc
