Edge of madness? No, it's quite acceptable to cross over into madness when several unsavory creatures are attempting to take advantage of your mortality.

The exhaustion goee beyond bone-deep, it is a weariness of soul that somehow drives you on. There's a feeling that you can't let such things happen to other people, call it ethos, call it duty, call it what you want, but the bastards are hurting you, they want to hurt you and your kind more, and they must be conquered.
