On her Big Day of Adventure little mouse stops to explore an old castle and finds that it is not as deserted as it looks.

This is a more recent work, illustrating a portion of Mussorgsky's "Picture's at an Exhibition." I had this idea that I could do sequential illustrations set to the music chronicling the adventures of a mouse as she goes exploring. This one, obviously, goes along with the "Old Castle" number. (The horse, by the way, is the mouse's Best Friend and acts as her guide and transport. The horse is represented musically by the Promenade, and like the Promenade in the music works to guide you from piece to piece.)
