It's so much fun seeing you play with digital more...and feeling so proud of the work you're creating! The textures and colors all fit the mood. Very stagnant and morose, but refreshing at the same time. Like the colors from the light are beginning to create a liveliness in an otherwise down mood.

Thanks -- the color balance played a large role in how I composed the whole thing. I guess there's a lazy twinkling quality I wanted the lights in the distance to have, and they kind of offset the two primary colors around them. Heh, if I desaturated everything it would look pretty emo and I wanted to avoid that :P

Absolutely -- those multiple lights sources can be so great for helping her look like she's really in the scene. And there are so many ways to help the figure pop out with complementary colors lighting both sides . . . but there are still so many decisions to make about how much light, how saturated, etc. XD

Thanks, I'm glad some of these details are noticeable :) I feel like I was redoing this over and over at each step just to create the look I had in my mind.

Some kind of color offset going on there, like a VHS misalignment. Red and Blue.

I've been experimenting with a lot of color distortion (trying to keep it subtle but effective). This kind of offset makes it feel like the whole world's a bit misaligned, and I kinda love it.
