Well, this was something in the back in my head for a long time. After watching some Mario & Luigi gameplay on YouTube, I came across on Partners in Time gameplay and saw a scene that gave me this idea.

So, after getting kidnapped by the alien Shroobs, Princess Peach was subjected into a mental refitted into becoming the NEW Princess Shroob after their last leader were defeated by the Mario Brothers of both Past and Present. Giving new clothing, Shroob Princess Peach now leads her new army into invading her former home, and sealed those pesky brothers away for eternity.
