Our story begins in the tranquility of the Milky way Galaxy, suddenly disrupted by a small green planet propelling its self through the star system, disrupting the gravitational flow of the planets it passes by until finally coming to a stop around planet Earth, the people of the world are afraid of what this planets presence in their orbit will do to harm the planet or worst if there is hostile life forms on it, a though that deeply concerns Robin as he and Cyborg get the T-Ship properly fitted to go to the planet, in the mean time Raven has volunteered to teleport herself and Starfire up onto the planets surface to recon it, Raven uses her magic to conjure up a portal linking the two planets, followed by Cyborg tossing in a scanning probe to test the planet for oxygen and toxins, the scanner gives the green light as the two are ready for their mission.

The pair walk through Ravens shadowy portal on earth and emerge onto the surface of the strange world in an instant, Cyborgs machine was right, the air is perfectly breathable but Raven and Starfire have a weird feeling the moment they set foot onto the planet, Cyborg says the planets higher gravity might cause discomfort but Ravens unsure thats whats happening, still the mild discomfort doesn't discourage Starfire from taking in the beauty of this world with is pink vegetation, its green sky and they both can see the Earth up in the atmosphere, but while they both take in the beauty of their surroundings, they've been distracted by their fate soon at hand.

(Starfire) While gazing up at the Earth, the funny feeling got worse, as Star clenched her stomach only to hear a ripping sound, her clothes had begun ripping apart at the seems, and Starfires skin felt dry, she turned to Raven to seek her wisdom only to be surprised that she was now noticeably taller then Raven who appeared to be having a splitting headache as she held her hands to her head, Starfire called out to her "Friend Raven!! hold me close, I will shield you from whatever is doing this while you make the portal to remove us from here! " by now Starfire's size had outgrown her clothes leaving her virtually naked which made Raven slightly uncomfortable but didn't have time for prudencies as she ran to Starfire and held onto her close while trying to mummer the incantation for the portal. Something about Raven felt soft and warm as Starfire held onto her friend tightly against her dry bare belly, but 30 seconds had passed and Starfire saw no portal, whats more despite not being any taller, something about Raven felt smaller to Starfire, as she looked down she was met with a shocking sight.

Raven had begun merging into Starfires body, raven was half her original size and rapidly shrinking as her clothes forcefully tore away from her body as more and more of her sunk into Starfires body, Star tried desperately to pull Raven away and get her to resist but Raven wasn't responding in any resistive way as she curled up into the fetal position and was now the size of a dog and getting smaller, Starfire wasn't sure what was going on, she tried all she could to release her friend but Raven kept getting smaller and smaller until eventually she was gone, completely merged into the body of her friend, Starfire was crest fallen that Raven was gone forever and that she was the one to inadvertently end her best friends existence, but Starfire refused to give up, she decided she would fly back to earth and study Ravens magical books, and find away to bring her friend back!! but as Starfire readied herself to take off she was met with another shock, she looked down at her feet which had grown so much they burst her shoes apart, but the real shock was that her feet and toes had grown long and deep into the planets soil, trying as hard as she could Starfire couldn't move her feet from the ground, Starfire got desperate and was ready to glow away the ground around her using her star bolts her skin had gotten so dry and hard, she had trouble moving her arms as well as the rest of her body.

Several hours pass by and Starfire continued to transform as her dry skin gradually became thick and hard, as her fingers grew twice their normal size and her arms over time froze in a upward position, finally Star's feet and legs began merging together, making Starfire unable to move an inch as she stood there frozen in place covered in the tattered remains of her clothes as some strange force alters her body, leaving the Tameranian princess trapped as she morns the loss of her best friend with nothing to keep her company but the shifting clouds.

Several days go buy, Starfire hasn't slept the entire time, for some reason she hasn't felt tired during this whole ordeal as her body continues to change. Star can feel growths coming out of her head as her hair starts falling out in clumps leaving her baled with with strange lumps covering her scalp, her lower body has grown into a solid mass and continues to grow deeper into the ground, Stars arms have streached out further and her fingers have merged together, but most peculiar are small leaf like clumps of hair growing out of her hands, Starfire has been diligently watching the clouds for any shapes they make as she hasn't seen any signs of any wild life at all, the only thing that seems to change are the drifting winds.

a Month passes by, Starfire has figured out what shes become, as her skin has turned hard as bark, her clothes have long since deteriorated away leaving her completely naked and bare, her body has grown cylindrical and twisting and shes grown numerous branches from her hands and baled head that have bloomed into a canopy full of hair leaves, Starfire realizes that she has become a tree and continues to grow longer and larger. Her mind has regressed alot to cope with the situation of losing Raven and what she had become, Starfires thoughts have become slow and simple, desiring only a equal amount of rain and sunshine like any tree would, but then one day Star noticed something growing one one of her branches, something she felt a strange connection twords, something.......Grey.

(Raven) We turn the clock back two when the Duo arrived on the planet, Raven's body ached from just being here, she could sense a powerful magical force at work that is doing something to them, Starfire calls out to Raven offering to protect her from the force at hand while she conjures a portal to get them out of here, even though Raven knows that wouldn't do anything, she still reaches out her friend presses herself into her stomach, the changes had made Starfire grow in size ripping away her shirt, her skin was dry and rough but Raven's own skin felt so soft that she couldn't focus on her incantation, she pressed her face against Starfire and held her tightly, she had never felt so close to anyone in her entire life, for some reason Starfire felt like her entire world and soon that would become true as Ravens skin began merging into Starfires body, Raven was aware of what was going on but she felt so at peace that she didn't dare resist as she felt the world around her get bigger and bigger as her body grew smaller and smaller the more she absorbed into Starfires body, the last thing Raven saw as the Earth up in the sky as she happily bid farewell to all she ever knew, then all went dark, Raven was no more as she had been completely absorbed into her best friend, but she was far from gone.

As the Months went on, Raven couldn't see, hear, or feel anything, but she her essence permeated throughout Starfire until finally she reappeared in the form of a small plant bud, Raven still had no other sense's but now her essence was in tune with Starfire's, as Raven continued to grow she began feeling Starfires blissful emotions which kept Ravens essence nurtured as it matured over the continuing months, the little bud gradually grew into a hefty fruit of some kind that dangled from the branch, but surprisingly, more grey buds began to appear as well as Raven shared her essence with each of them, finally after growing so heavy the Raven fruit broke off the branc and landed onto the ground, where its roots dug deep into the soil and began to grow on its own.

It had been 8 months since they first arrived, Starfire has grown into a massive tree, more then 4 times her original size, many Raven fruits hang from her branches but the one the fell off a while back now emerges up out of the ground fully matured, Raven opens her eyes for the first time since her absorption, her first sight she see's is the tree that is Starfire, her face as faded away as her evolution progressed and shes become completely inanimate, but Raven still feels her connection with it and knows who it is deep down even though Raven can't remember anything about her old existence, that she was ever anything other then a plant, she looks over at Starfire and has a deep bond with her creator, Raven see's Starfire as her Mother that gave her life and with her own legs deeply rooted into the ground, she knows its her purpose to keep her protected.

Several more months go by, marking the one year anniversary of their arrival on their home world, Starfire hasn't gotten any bigger but several Raven fruits have fully grown into Defender Ravens, all psychically linked together as one entity, even though the planet has no hostile life forms they still diligently guard their mother from any harm night and day, it is their purpose and have no other thoughts then to keep her safe, until one day a strange force speaks out to the Raven's, the force is the planet its self, its an ancient sentient planet that uses powerful arcane magic to turn living things into an extension of its being, it used up the last of its strength trying to reach earth and has been inactive for the past year, but now its in close orbit to Earth and is calling apon the Raven's to use their power and teleport as many humans onto the planet as possible, with them all an extension of his will they dutifully obey their master and and begin using their magic to teleport humans one at a time randomly onto the planets surface, by the time they leave the close orbit, they've transferred over 2000 people onto the Planet where they all meet a similar fate as they all transform into various plant life to fuel their masters power, but this is only a tiny fraction of the power it needs for its greater plans, but the seasons begins to change and the cold weather draws in, as all the Raven Defenders and Fruits wither up and die while Starfire loses all her leaves and goes into Hibernation while shes covered in snow, but eventually the warm weather returns, Starfire comes out of hibernation and new Raven's begin to grow as her essence is linked to her Mother Starfire and never dies as long as Starfire can grow more Ravens.

Several Decades pass, the Planet in orbit has been dubbed Vartorious, every year the Earthlings try and flee whatever part of the world is closest to Planet Vartorious when it comes into Earths atmosphere and abducts humans, teleporting them onto the planets surface and turning them into more plant life to feed the ancient planets lust for more power, with the key to its plans all resting on a single orange tree and her grey offspring, the former Heroines who came simply to see what was on the planet so their team could arrive via ship to deal with this great evil, their friends Robin, cyborg, and Beastboy had long since arrived and met the same fate but without Magical powers like Raven has, they are lost in the crowd as Raven diligently does her duty teleporting new seeds for her master and defending her mother, while Starfire continues to make more Raven's, ensure the cycle, like the seasons, will never cease. The end
