In the world of Criddia, unlike most settings where orcs are seen as monsters, from the country of Keridak orcs rule their country, agriculturally stagnant, they hire out themselves as mercenaries to other countries to fill ranks, known for honoring contracts to bring coin and trade to their country for them to survive. And while orcs are treated with respect... half-orcs are treated with disdain by both races. Shown as weak for orcs, or brutish for humans, they usually turn to crime and larceny to live in this world, perpetuating their negative stigma by both races.
Geitz would have been no exception if he hadn't been rescued by a group of traveling pilgrims, taking him in after a terrible childhood (which is a story for another time), raising him under their tenets of devotion and justice, their way believing that it's the acts one performs, not the blood you come from, that matters over all.
Growing up and growing strong, he took up arms as a paladin of devotion, dedicating himself to helping those who were like him; unable to help themselves, or who had anyone watching over them. While he appears to be a standard swordsman with a spark of the divine to request, when push comes to shove he can call armor passed down to him by his mentor, encased in cobalt blue plate, a sentry against the darkness, and a blade that will cut it down to ensure the dawn...

hurricane128 here on FA for Orctober, Geitz is the last of my main orcish characters along with Amit, Bren, and Bal'jek that I played in various editions of Dungeons and Dragons growing up. Where Amit was the wiseman, Bal'jek was the savage, and Bren was the outsider, Geitz was the everyman. He didn't hesitate to reach out to whoever needed help... no matter how much he was hated, or despised, or ignored -- Geitz was looking to break free of the stigma of his mixed blood, and show the world that it wasn't who you were, but what you did that mattered.
