Mortimer is a handpainted cat. After the first set of Paper Pals, I wanted to make one to use as a self-promotional thing. So I didn't want to be all digital. His texture is painted in gouache and then scanned in and assembled onto the pattern. His pattern is arranged so that I could fold the whole page in half to fit into an envelope to send to folks. I got a little carried away taking photos of him. He is something of a magician to me. And his face, while I didn't intend for it, has an "omgsrsbizness" expression to it :)
