This photo turned out really well :3 At first, I thought they were gulls, but it appears they're a kind of sandpiper, maybe? I dunno, my ornithology is rusty XD Anyway, congrats on winning that award, by the way :)

I like this very much for three main reasons. the first is that the image falls nicely into the rule of thirds from a photographic point of view, The sky takes the top third the sand takes the bottom third and the birds are within the central third. Also this is what I would call a lineal photo because of all the lines being almost parallel, the track in the sand, the shore, the white water the birds all run in lines. Lastly is the simplicity of contrast of colour, there are no glaring and stark colours simply different shades of blues and browns with a dash of white. It is a simple photo but a good photo and I am glad you won an award. well done.
