I know a lot of you have been wanting me to get back to my art and I think I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. I have heard your prayers to me and I have a delivered....sort of. This is the first full piece that I've done in forever.
These are two very VERY lazy renditions of the big G so they aren't too detailed. I think the shading is the only thing I put any real thought into. Practice is not, however, the point of this so it's VOTE TIME!!
While I still have a huge soft spot for the version on the right (and I'm sure most of you do as well) I remember several of you saying you rather liked the idea of a "muscle-gut" version (seen left). Someone pointed out that this is holds more true to his species however I also believe that one of the traits essential to the character is that he tends to defy at least that one stereotypical aspect. So please let me know what you think and VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE VERSION.
The following descriptions are rough but they are for BOTH versions depicted. There is one background where he has superpowers and another where he doesn't.
Glacier (Powerless Varient)
Real Name: Charlie Donelle
Age: 28
Species: Polar Bear
Occupation: Professional Wrestler, Vigilante
Born to a community of polar bears in northern Alaska all of which were raised to be highly skilled fighters outside of military influence for the purposes of security, entertainment or to join the armed forces if they so choose. Unlike his brothers and sisters Charlie wanted something more, something different. He noticed the others were trained to use the size and strength natural to their species so Charlie decided to use his teachings to train in speed and agility to balance out his size rather then raw power. Though he was not the largest in his community, a "runt of the litter" so to speak, he excelled among his peers while managing to stay under the radar for fear of being forced into an unwanted occupation or shipped off. Even after learning all he could from his people Charlie wanted more. Much more. He traveled the world seeking out new teachers and learned as many fighting styles as he could. He returned to the U.S. seeking his calling in Futurous City and since wrestling seemed to be the one fighting style that he actually struggled with, Charlie took the entertainment route and became a professional wrestler. He took up the name Glacier and was a huge success. He was later asked by a large corporation to join their elite security team but Glacier refused after his first taste of being the hero one fateful night. He rescued a young woman from group of drunk ex-marines and realized that the police aren't always on the look out for small time crimes and decided to go out at night and search for a new perspective on big city life while fighting crime. However the corporation that tried to hire him were mad that he had refused their more then generous offer and had a wrestling friend of his brutally murdered. Despite all the evidence the company got away scott free and Glacier was enraged. He hunted down and killed his friends assassin but completely lost faith in the justice system and justice overall. Still holding the corporation responsible the young bear was quick to start taking the law into his own hands becoming judge, jury and sometimes executioner. He still cared enough about others to keep himself from taking up villainous pursuits. Torn between his good side and a strange, angry darkness within he is considered a hero by some and an unpredictable "super-feral" by others.
The super powered version story is the same except not long before his training in the alaskan community was complete Charlie discovered that he an several others were experimented on. When seeking answers he ended up in a situation where he was forced to survive the elements and nature. The experience caused something within him to snap and he gained the ability to send freezing energies through anything he touches. It only gave him another reason to travel the world; so he could also learn how to control his ability.
A bit long winded and a little cliche, this is still a work in progress but I hope you enjoy it all the same. LET THE VOTING BEGIN!!

Im going with the one on the right myself. Speedo briefs look better on muscular boys anyway. The "gut" causes the waistband to fold in on itself and does not look very good in my opinion. Some guys can make it work but mostly no. I like the look of the one on the right better anyway.
Glad to see your back though!
