You can get around the resize usually by using "Change Submission File". It's what most people do, a loophole it doesn't seem like they'll fix anytime soon.

I'm a writer as well, but there's been a time or two where a commission I've gotten is a bit larger than FA likes (and more recently, it seems everything I post doesn't seem to display properly the first time around, for some strange reason), and I picked up the trick hearing it from another by chance. For something like this, it may have actually been cleaner to separate it into 4 parts, but it may have worked as one image too, mostly because you only need to scroll down to see more, rather than side to side.

Yeah. I'm kinda bummed I had to take the TIME to do this.
