Why do I get the feeling he's going to get permanently merged inside that machine?

Really admire what it is you've thought up and made so far. I'm out of the loop in understanding it well, but I appreciate what I see. It shows in these pages, too.

So.. he took off his outer space-suit.. but left the helmet on in the end? (slightly puzzled by exactly what's being put on/off.. but DEFINATELY loving seeing those TOIS put to use!)

Ok, since the beginning of this comic and after seeing the other images of the TOIS, I've been wondering what exactly they are.
From what I can gather they are like anthropomorphic EVAs that bond with the pilot's body and have a high chance of becoming permanently bonded due to... Shenanigans.
Does the body in there still exist after a permanent bond? Do the TOIS enforce some kind of mental effect/rewrite on the user? What the actual fuck does the term TOIS mean other than an excuse for wordplay?
These are just random questions and if you don't feel like answering due to wanting to keep it ambiguous or that these details will be explained further in the story I understand. If not, it would be interesting to know.

Regardless, great job on the comic so far, and I am looking forward to seeing how this pans out.
