Cigar Review of the Week: La Gloria Cubana Coleccion Reserva
Hey guys, sadly it's the last one for the month and I will be taking aanother break next month fro reviews to work on a couple of projects and a tshirt design for the group. After all the selections with this blend I decided to go with a special one to end it. Let's get to it!
La Gloria Cubana Coleccion Reserva Robusto:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the appearance in the box there was a simple and yet not too complex look. Like any regular cigar box with tasty sticks. The feel was very smooth and oily. Slighlty bumpy but still felt right for a sumatra wrapper. With the classic La Gloria Woman label and the red mini band, it made it complete. Veins and Seems were moderate. LEt's light it up!
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were vibrang and bright in draw. Alot of smoke. The first 2 notes to comes out were a natural cedar taste along with some earthiness. No sign of sweet notes so far. It was more of an outdoor feel than anything at this point. Imagine being out from your home in mountain country, taking a breath of fresh air. Soon near the ending there was some sweet notes coming. Sort of a sweet coffee cream liquor note. Body at this point was medium.
The Burn Part 2:
As the stick went along, the pepper notes began to come forward giving some more bite balance. IT was a light black pepper. One change did come a bit. The cedar became a little more more oaky and mellow. The earthy notes along with the coffee cream liquor stayed in proper balance. At this point the balance was medium to full body. The pressure was starting to build up.
The Burn Final:
The body on this was starting build up a bit and making more and more use of the earthy notes. They were vibrant. The light pepper notes dwindled a bit, bit still had a taste from the retro hale. The coffee notes were almost in the back. With the near ending last puffs. The oak notes were the 2nd from the earthy notes. The last draw went to the earthy notes. My final words were, "Such a seductive Lady she is."
Verdict:
For a pallet that craves the natural and sweet balance with the right amount pepper, this is your stick. Just look for the little red band under it. You won;t be disappointed.
Next Month, I will be taking a break. Deciding on a new blend to review.
See you guys in 2 Months.
