My take on the discarded idea of Gizmo turning into a Gremlin.
As it goes, from what I could find from the story board, Gizmo would had be secluded in a spot (in what appears to be the kitchen from the picture) when fireworks went off - this would had burned off his right ear and made him angry and to turned into a Gremlin, thus becoming the antagonist. In the end, Spielberg rejected the idea, as he wanted to make him the hero of the movie - thus Stripe was created and Giz become the hero to kill him, Earl became the Mogwai that turned for revenge.
I did after it was suggested to me, can't remember by who.

I'd really like someone to maybe adapt the original full-on horror screenplay for Gremlins to a comic. It sounds like it'd be pretty nasty and brutal. And while I agree with the idea of Gizmo not becoming a Gremlin, kinda can't help but find the idea secretly fascinating.
Because it'd make sense in context of the moral of the story.
