Decided I'm going to do a series of tutorials on how I do background elements. That was one of the biggest obstacles for me when I was beginning; I knew how to draw characters, but backgrounds were beyond me. Keep in mind, I am by no means the authority on drawing these things. There are a TON of other great tutorials out there! If you're trying to learn, I suggest using as many tutorials as you can. Learning to use an art program is 50% copying tutorials, and 50% experimenting with what you've learned.

Starting literally from the ground up, the first one is how I do grass! Keep in mind, this tutorial assumes that you use Photoshop (the basics should still be the same for other programs, like SAI, but you'll have to adapt them, and I dunno if SAI comes with a grass brush), and that you know the basics of using Photoshop (How layers work and all that.)
