It's true, I "Found" this piece. The cello in this piece plays the first note of the previous Plinktober songs, in order. So for the main melody, I didn't actually write anything, I orchestrated my previous scribblings that I'd FOUND for prompt number 30! The extra harmonics played by the English Horn, Violins, Trumpets and trombones were written to compliment the cello melody, and the piano and harp play some multi-octave arpeggios.
As for the title, having listened to the piece repeatedly upon completion, it didn't really fill me with optimism and felt a bit hopeless, so I called it Parking Space #44, after my designated parking space at a job I used to hate, where I used to park up and not really want to get out. This tune would have been my mood most mornings!
Hope you're enjoying Plinktober - ONE TO GO!
