Just for grins and giggles, here's a montage of the original rough pencils I sent to Bill Holbrook, along with some Ferrari and Mercedes references for the first pic. Note the helmet reference; my initial idea was to have the gals wearing vintage racing helmets for the first pic, though Bill decided to omit that (which, in retrospect, worked out quite well).

It's always a pleasure working with Bill; he's a real pro and can turn my rough scribblings into funny, life-filled pics!

This also drives home how, when you have an idea for a commission, try and sketch it out beforehand so you can give the artist a better idea of what you have in mind! Doesn't have to be fancy, as you can see; even rough scribbles can get your idea across.
