I wouldn't worry about flooding FA with doodles, really. It's pretty much your gallery, and so long as you don't violate the AUP, you should be fine.

Hm… clockwise from the top left corner: a fox, a hippo, a bull or bison, a young deer, possibly a kangaroo, a cat of some kind, a rhino, and an aardvark. How did I do?

Close. The hippo was meant to be a beaver and the aardvark an anteater.

I'll prolly take a break from doodles unless I do one that I particularly think is nice. Usually I doodle a bit before starting the comic each day and 99% of the doodles never see the light of day. As tempting as it would be to have "daily doodles" updated, I figure thats borderline pushing things.

Luckily I have some actual artwork I can work on this upcoming weekend once I'm done with the comic updates for the week.

Ah, okay, I missed the tail. And I was gonna do aardvark/ant eater, but I felt that was being a little redundant. Eh. *shrugs*

Seriously, I'd love a daily doodles update, Amber. That would be really cool. Oh, and actual artwork? Neato.

Based on the number of comments and favorites the other scraps got, I'm pretty sure your fans would love to be flooded with more scraps and doodles while waiting for finished pieces.

yeah dont worry about huge droves of sketches, they keep most of us entertained :3
if it really bothers you, just chuck your sketches in scraps and keep your main gallery for finished stuff

Picture flooding will be second nature to you soon enough

I loves these diverse figures. Mab, you have probably one of the most diverse sets of character designs ever in my opinion, and this is well done.

My figures are not as diverse as I'd like them to be...but I'm working on it. I confess drawing figures standing in a generic pose makes it a lot easier. If I was to try drawing one of the really muscular or really heavy figures doing some dynamic pose or odd angle, odds are I would fall flat on my face.

Then again dynamic poses and foreshortening is another one of my big hangups.

I suppose part of the reason I am posting doodles is it helps me personally make a tally of areas I could use more work on...or in some cases, people who have advice on the matter. If anything, kind of like with the comic itself, it lets some peeps see some of the trial and error behind all the finished artworks.

I suppose, but I see a whole lot of diversity. I even think of how your comic looks in production, and yes, even though many of the females have a similar level of "fitness," let's say, there is incredible diversity in design.

And I think also that the doodles you're doing here speak to that. So I think you are doing a great thing here.

Mmmmmmm, I don't mind ya posting doodles. While they're not as fancy or wonderful as your finished pieces, they DO give a small insight to some of your creative process, and I always find that cool to see. Sorta like a "Behind the scenes" view or something.

I LIKE the doodles. I like to see how artists put their work together, and studies of different body types always fascinate me.

Uh, I'd say a lot more about these, but it's in scraps. Still, kudos to you for trying to experiment. I think you did it with a lot more success than you give yourself credit for.

I actually like the doodles - I've always liked your style, and this is kinda like getting a primer on how to draw certain species. :3 You should totally publish a how-to book. ^..^
