A tugboat has sank not long ago, birds sing say there were some valuable stuff on board being smuggled when the storm hit. Helena and her team was sent there to peek around and snag the loot before anyone else gets there. Fortunately, the mission went quick, without a hitch; not even a fish crossed them. Unfortunately, the 'valuable stuff' turned out to be counterfeit designer clothing. Well, at least the scenery was okay.
I changed her mask design a bit, because the circular one covered most of here eyes, plus this new shape has more character to it. o3o
Been wanting to do an actual underwater picture, but I never seem to be get the look right. I have pictures fully inked, some are even longer than a year old, that are waiting to get coloured, but this new one was the simplest of all. I'm not 100% happy with the result, as the colours are a bit too washed out buuuut its a step closer.
I used the tugboats from Fallout 4 as a reference here; boats are hard x-x
Enjoy!

Yeah hahaha they are pretty fun to draw, the irregular shapes and that they add some movement to the pic?
Hahaha I kinda cheated the very last layers of background, buuut not every underwater scene is filled with plant life and fesh .. riiight? :3c
I thinks the only issue is the dark wetsuit, it the angle that makes it a bit hard to make out bits initially, but yiss! Maybe I should try different suit colours :3c

Aww thank you Neeem! <333
Hahaha I knowwww, they are oddly huge fun to draw? Random shapes and details that add a bit of life to the scene, although I foolishly inked her whole scuba tank and valves before adding them. I a smart man!
Now I gotta do that old piece with the ruins :3

Nooo unfortunately, I've barely been to any huge bodies of water in fact ... :_D
I did look at a looot of photos to get a right feel, how colours change and how everything has a soft light to them with no highlights and such, which oddly fit my general preferences for shading?

Hmmmm!
This one is kind of tricky because the mask a quite long, with the visor at the front, so pretty much only frontal angles work, otherwise the face get obstructed. It's a limiting design.
Basically, the whole mask works like a tube. What I do is draw the head, and on a new layer draw the front visor. I move the layer about till I get a good compromise on how much of her face is still there, but the overall mask shape is there.
Though I think for these kinda things, notes would work better!
