Piano Suite - I. Allegro Moderato
I wrote this Piano Suite back in 1996-1997. In it I deliberately tried to emulate several different time periods in music. This first movement aims for the Baroque style. My chief influence was Bach's Italian Concerto. This is the only piece of Baroque music I've ever really done. I'm rather pleased with it even now.

It has some really contrapuntally sophisticated moments, which I enjoyed! :) You've captured the general idea of the style without striving to imitate it, I think, which serves you very well. :) There was one rather obvious key change that sounded a little off to me, but I understand the need to have something drive the piece forward -- it's very difficult to make baroque pieces sound like they're going anywhere.
Nice job! ^^

Thank you, Cygne! Where was the rather obvious key change? I managed to migrate from C Major - G Major - Bb Major - F# Minor / A Major - Ab Major - B Major - Gb Major - back to C Major.
I guess it's not surprising this remains my only Baroque style piece. It was fun to do, but it does seem like a world ago that I attempted this.
