The second movement to the Piano Suite tries to emulate the Classical Period. My influence was Beethoven, particularly the middle movement to his Pathetique Sonata which I was learning at the time. I'm not sure how well I succeeded. You'll note that I reused a theme from the first movement. This was intentional as the original plan was to have themes carry from one movement to the next to tie them together.
