Wisdom From the Ancestors
We are come to the labyrinth tonight,
walking one by one.
In the dark of Samhain, a riddle burning bright,
and candles waving down.
We are vessels of the highest love
in a lesson, burning bright, the lesson of our lives.
When all our sorrows cauldron into one,
be reborn, this Samhain night
Still On time for this, Since the Pagan Holiday of Samhain ends this evening.
As you may (or may not) know I am a witch, and Samhain is always a holiday I've been particularly close to, It signifies the Pagan New year, it's a time when the harvest is over and we begin our tread into the cold dead winter months. However it is also a time of introspection, and taking in the wisdom of our ancestors and long departed to better ourselves for the months when we can step out of winter.
In this time of looking within, we can heal ourselves during the dead of winter- so when Yule comes, and the sun steadily returns more and more to melt the snow away, we too can come back- brighter and healed from the winter months.
The skull ghosts in this picture represent the presence of the ancestors and long departed, the humpback whale in particular represents my Father, who loved humpback whales, and passed away on this very day 8 years ago. I will always remember and respect him, and try my hardest to walk forward with his advice and guidence from back when guiding my steps to make me a better person day by day
