This was another one of my favorites, which is why I was disappointed when I found out it was a male. I kept thinking this one or a different type I've had about the same amount of time was a female, but in the end they both ended up being a male. Which at this point he's starting to get to the end of his rope considering he went through his last molt a few months ago at this point.

It's hard to tell sometimes if they are not adults yet. But there's a spot under the abdomen where the females will have a little flap where she puts the sperm from the male and the males won't have it. You can pick them up and check, but I usually try to wait till they molt and then look. Otherwise when they become adults the males tend to be very skinny and spindly. Along with the males will have what look like boxing gloves on two of it's front "arms".
Thanks and I can't believe i forgot about the abdomen part.
An old friend of mine who still owns his tarantula told me about this years ago.
Tarantulas are pretty cute but sometimes give me goosebumps but not all the time, it's not common for me to see them in real life plus i'm not used to how they behave. I have the same feeling with seeing and handling with snakes and ferrets to.
But with Rats I have no problem with.
