This show was very hard for me. Not only playing with a swollen foot, an hour before I was to leave my house to bring the drums to the hotel, I got word that my nephew passed away. As much as I looked like I was having fun I was also grieving. I literally broke down during "Lighthouse".

My nephew was also a musician. He was the leader, singer, songwriter and guitarist for the doom metal band 'Pilgrim'. They completed 2 albums for Metal Blade records and played huge metal fests all over the world. He was the most meek and gentle person I ever knew. Extremely talented and such a voice. I thought of him as my little brother. We would share road stories, talk gear, laugh. I just can't see a world without him. I loved him so much. He was 26 years old. I'm still in shock. I try to wrap my head around it, but I can't. From now on, EVERY performance, weather it be live or studio, will be dedicated to him. If you see me point to the sky before a show, know it's for him.
