A character reference for a phoenix I'm planning to write some future stories about.

She uses the curved "hook" in her upper jaw to pick up prey under the shoulders for swallowing.

I dunno, probably a few if she was feeling greedy. Generally one would have enough emotional energy to feed her for a day though.

I could see her taunting her prey while she eats them to make them more terrified, even though becoming fat and energy for her is nothing to be terrified about.

Yes, she does like to get her prey worked up, they're more nutritious that way. :)

Generally, yes, because it's part of her biology and magic, but if she left the prey in her belly long enough, eventually the bones would probably dissolve, and then they wouldn't reform.

Well the calcium in bones is important.

LOL...maybe she'd digest someone she didn't like, but she won't really get any nutrients out of it, she feeds off of emotional energy.

She digest the people who keep bothering her with questions about history and if she should start their campfire.

Starting a campfire would be easy for her. She looks fierce, but is a fairly friendly pred. That being said, humans probably would try to hunt her, in which case she wouldn't be friendly anymore...

Good point, those pesky humans are always looking for ways to cheat death. The only thing about them that will last forever will be what they contribute to Claire's superior body when they're digested.
