So I'm watching episodes of Animaniacs on Youtube the other day and I was shocked at how much of the adult humor flew over my head way back in the day.
Boy, nothing like when your childhood rapes YOU once ina while, eh? If they were supposed to of been made in the 1930s, I think they're well and beyond legal, so don't gimme lip.
Anyway. Yeah hello ninth circle? Just checking to make sure my reservations are still in order.

Cartoon are made by bored adults, knowing bored adults will be watching this with their kids, and try to make it more bareable for them. I remember an episode of Tazmaina that was a spoof of Reservoir Dogs. They would have to be pretty fucked up kids to get THAT refarance. Then there's just plain dicking around like with the Thundercats out takes. “I WANT TO SEE YOUR TITS MY DEAR!”
I recently bought a DVD set of Animaniacs for my friend John. The humor is freaking outlandishly obtuse in some cases. I STILL don't get a couple of the references. Things like "I always wanted to be a goodfeather", though, got me laughing this time around.
Hell, some of the childish things still had me crying tears of laughter. "LOOK. A BIG FAT FANNIE."

Yakko Wakko and Dot were one of the most amazing Warner Creations since the Tiny Toons Came out back in the nineties, nothing compares to the enormous quality of the humour, handled in such professional ways that you never realized that it was a real crude or adult joke X3
Thank you for the memories

First Tiny Toons came out, and it was ok. Then Animaniacs was born, and it did what Tiny Toons did, only BETTER. It pains me that Animaniacs was canceled for... *gags*.. Hysteria, which TRIED to maintain similar humor, but just couldn't compare.
Anyway, this is a nice pic of Yakko, and yeah, it IS in character. Great job!

I think that show caught me offguard the most when they did that beauty and the beast spoof. And Dot couldn't get her lines right, so she had to get trying and trying, getting more and more upset. Up till the point where she broke out in (bleeped out) cursing.
Yakko (With a big grin): Thats my cute little sister who said that!
That really made laugh.

There's a lot of adult humor in cartoons now. Even stuff like Rugrats and Spongebob has it thrown in sometimes. I think on some level it's because the people animating it get a kick out of it. It also may be so the parents don't die of boredom if they're watching TV with their kids.
Animaniacs is by far one of the best boundary pushers of it's day. I was lucky to be old enough to appreciate all it's levels of humor, and, as the comments are supposed to be about the art, I have to say that that statement is SO Yakko. Excellent job in capturing his personality and his look so well.
One of my personal favorites, Slappy's take on Diet Soda: "Gotta watch my figure. Hey, SOMEbody's gotta watch it." (then proceeds to show off comedically well formed legs under her fur)

since we're all on a cartoon kick here, anyone remember Road Rovers? Supposedly it had alot of adult humor mixed in as well, but unforuantly I remember only like a handfull of episodes and was to young to get any "adult" humor that would have came up. Man, wish I had those though, I do remember liking them alot
I loved "Animaniacs" Minerva Mink was very hot, though she was vain and self-centered. The Warner siblings were very hilarious.
As someone else had mentioned, the show, sort of like "Tiny Toon Adventures" pushed real cleverly of how well mature comedy can be used for a "kids" show, which in my opinion is done better than most of today's more recent G-PG rated movies and TV.
It was also becuase of the silly, adult humor and fun animation that I far more perfer those Warner Brothers funny-toon shows of the day like "Animaniacs" than The Disney Afternoon/Disney Saturday AM shows, which were more aimed to kids.

Wow.. just wow. At first, when I saw the bondage gear I thought "OMG! I don't want to see this! You are killing my childhood innocence. NOOOO!" Then after reading the word bubbles I sorta felt a little hot.. even when coming back to look at it, it effects me the same way. >_<
For some reason, the bondage gear works well on him, though they may have to chase him around the room to get the chains/clips on them, he'd probably make it into a big game too. Even though I'd hate to admit it, I'd love to see what this turned into some kinda comic strip of what happens before and after this drawing.
His words are perfect, it's very Yakko! It adds extra humor to one kinky drawing. LOL XD
