Ever notice how coyotes are seemingly indestructible? Or how they’re pretty much everywhere, thriving happily? How does Xyk survive all the terrible things that happen to him, anyway? It’s no accident, to be sure!

One of my favorite parts of Coyote myth is the recurring theme that Coyote could be resurrected by his brother, Fox. Typically, Fox would only have to hop over Coyote’s corpse – and it was as easy as that!

I share my affinity for these stories with Mel White, whom I was happy to meet again at FC 2009. I love commissioning her for pieces like this. Thanks again, Mel!
