Nope. We had a 1st Sgt who liked to destroy utilities so no one ever saw a point. We did get inspections, fairly often actually because my unit was obsessed with appearances, but never before pt.
Also jesus fuck I know. Even with the metal plated gloves on I still ended up bleeding somewhere from setting up that shit. And they picked me for it EVERY time

We had a CWO that loved to place inspections right before PT. It was like his thing to always prepare the annoyances when he knew it would impact the platoon the most. "Seeing as how we are meeting for a battalion run at 0500, we should be prepared at 0300 for a chucks inspection that way everyone is awake and ready for the next formation". But I think the worst part of it was trying to explain to junior marines why it needed to be done while also feeling like i wanted to hang the man lol.
Ugh god I never even bothered explaining anything lmao. I was always just like "This is what we're doing and it sucks. Why do this? Because (insert name here) likes to fuck us. Any questions"
Best one was when we were going to the field. Drawing weapons at 0300, up at the motor pool by 0500, and not doing SHIT until we left at 0900. We were ALWAYS in the field too. I felt like I was equally stationed at 29 palms
