I kind of don't want to say too much about specifically how Vilkas and Ivory get to know each other, or what their relationship is. But this idea amused me and I decided to draw it anyway.

I've mentioned before that Ivory likes to play with animal ghosts, even better in her opinion is finding old dens where lots of remains can be found, it's like a ghostly petting zoo to her. Only people with medium abilities or other connections to the dead can see spirits, and even though they are real and not part of Ivory's delusions, most normal people sort of dismiss it as such. So, she's thrilled to find that Vilkas can see them, too. Both of them are already aware of his strigoi problem at this point, that's not why either of them are surprised; it's just this aspect of it that's news to Ivory, and Vilkas simply doesn't know how to feel about such a statement being happily announced.

Also, the red glow around Vilkas is Ivory-vision, it's not really there. She can catch glimpses of the strigoi if she really tries to look into him, but without trying, she just senses his messed up energy. The visualization of it is her hallucinating.
