"Despite his mostly calm and kind behavior, Laokafi have one big quirk, which often affects himself, as well as his friends and those who meet him. Big eastern beast knows that his kind is rare. Common folk in his homeland treat foo dogs with great respect and light fear, knowing how strong and durable these creatures may be. A royal guard in the town will surely cause a lot of interest, making people either step aside and bow or come a bit closer to enjoy the sight of giant powerful beast walking by... and Lao like it a lot. Probably a bit too much.
Former guardian always giggles in joy when he catch a curious (or maybe even loving) look of a stranger or friend. He often smiles widely in return and if the situation is fitting, Laokafi may approach his admirer, willing to show off, to represent himself. It can be awkward to those who didn't know this side of him, since Lao don't even mind to show off those parts of his body which are usually covered under clothing...
