The Speckled Teaser is an interesting specimen in the botanical world. It bears a striking resemblance to the terrestrial Venus Fly Trap, but unlike the Venus it can be quite large, growing to the size of a modest cantaloupe, and appears to be carnivorous but there is no evidence that it devours its prey. They grow along powerful vines which coil around structures with new Teasers sprouting from it every meter or so.
The name "Teaser" is based on how it does go about feeding: Using its highly developed pedals, it secretes a sweet smelling cocktail of nectar that draws in its prey. When the prey gets in close, it launches out its extremely dexterous tendrils to immobilize their captive. Once that has been completed, it begins drawing the victim up into its "maw" where the interior lining of the pedals begins to generate a viscous substance that acts as a softening agent. This was once suspected to be a digestive acid, but instead is more akin to a baby oil of all things.
As the prey is pulled into the maw, the vines begin to poke, prod, and otherwise tickle the small animal. Once the captive has been pulled up far enough, the pedals close, trapping the prey inside its maw where it is coated in the gooey drippings which serve to amplify the Teaser's effect on the victim's body.
This seemingly odd feeding process is in service to its primary food source: Kinetic absorption. The inner lining of the pedals are extremely sensitive and seem designed to withstand the physical trauma of, say, something thrashing against its surface. Once it traps its prey inside of its maw, it begins to absorb the kinetic energy brought about by the captive's desperate attempt to escape the Teaser's skilled tendrils. By the time the captive is released, they are exhausted, but otherwise unharmed. However, their release is dependent on the Teaser's nourishment. Feeding sessions have been recorded at anywhere between a few hours to a few days.
Despite being a rapidly expanding invasive species, the Speckled Teaser is harmless to humans as they are too large to be considered a viable food source. During desperate times Teasers have been known to attempts to grapple a finger or two, but it doesn't get much farther than that. Its prey consists of small mammals, lizards, and a similarly invasive species: the Armor-Fae, the Fairy-like creatures with armor like exoskeletons (we're still working on the name). Farmers have begun cultivating the Teaser's secretions for cosmetic companies as well as their nectar which is used for various sweeteners.
Here we see the a small patch of Speckled Teasers engaging in a feeding ritual. It would appear that they ha- HOLY SHIT, is that a bat wearing pants? That's just the craziest. Well, that li'l guy's in for a fun few hours... or days. Who knows: It's an art, not a science.

corfide's OC, Pip, in the clutches of a tickle plant. From there, I kinda went nuts with the composition. It was a lot of fun to work on and hope you guys get a kick out of it!
