Dia de los Muertos 2017
A little belated on finishing, but over the last few years I always make some sort of piece during The Day of the Dead. Sometimes it's just a skeleton sketch, and sometimes it's a bit more elaborate. While it's a holiday I do not personally celebrate (though I admit I'd love to attend a festival one day) it's definitely a celebration I find extremely meaningful and particularly beautiful in its imagery and symbolism.
It's a day of remembrance. A day to celebrate those who are gone from life, but you still have so much love for. I guess making a drawing helps me think about those who've parted from my life in a small way. :)
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this piece possible! I find it hard to spare time for larger illustrations, but more people were interested in this sort of theme than I thought would be!

(I managed to time most of my drawing sessions on this, and this piece took somewhere around 6-7 of total drawing hours to complete! This does not include the work put in for research, communication with everyone about character information and so on, though!=D)
