You do...you do realize this is kinda racist and culturally appropriative, right? Like, I'm not trying to be that guy, the design is lovely, it's just not really...okay?

My first attempt was to create it as a thanksgiving turkey coloration and design, however the turnout was incredibly different. I've been researching and asking opinions of friends as well as modifying the title, submission info, and everything I can think of to make this color theme/idea not racist. If you have any ideas on how to do this properly and keep the color theme/ideas, please say so. This is not intended for any racism or cultural offense. I literally did attend a pow-wow locally and got inspired, so please do help if you are able to. It's appreciated.

I would try to remove the warpaint-esque markings on the face, and maybe base them around a real turkey. For example, adding hints of blue to the face instead of the white warpaint markings on the face. Secondly, I would remove "native american themed" from the name entirely. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to make sure that you don't get in trouble with the admins, and are being culturally respectful! I appreciate that you went to a local Pow Wow, they are a lot of fun and very interesting!

I'll see what other people say, mot importantly someone who is native american (a close friend of mine is native american who really loves this design and idea). My only reason for keeping it until having further opinions is due to the fact I love the color design (as well as all friends I checked in on this with). This in particular was just made from inspiration on the colors and how they implement them into an 'art form'- in other words I appreciate the coloration, style and use of colors from their culture as an art form.


I already have tried hard creating a turkey DAD without success (including the coloration you mentioned, and large turkey tail feathers) X( it failed so bad.
My future design ideas include flag colorations and colorations for holidays specifically (I appreciate color combinations and even flag designs as art forms). There's so many that I do want to try, so this will never be a subject i'll use again as far as I know. During the next year holiday season for thanksgiving i'll for sure use more animal and natural colorations that are much further broad.

I'll see what happens with others opinions, but likely wont return on any similar idea for this concept again. I'm unsure how to implement an inspiration on a color theme used by a culture as non offensive, really, but any ideas towards it specifically are absolutely open ears and welcome in my world ^^
