i've never seen the phrase "dropping a bomb" been literal in two definitions at once.

They need to make an updated version of the A-10, because this plane is awesome. Rapid-response close in air support with a primary weapon that makes confetti out of tanks, and an airframe that is insanely hard to kill, if the simulators are even close to accurate.

I tried a training flight in an A-10 flight sim, and stupidly dropped a 2k pound bomb at low altitude. It blew the tail off my plane. I still managed to land what was left of my aircraft.

I don't know why the simulator training had air-to-air combat vs. an F-15, though. The other guy hit me bad enough to wreck my HUD avionics. I completed the exercise (I basically zapped him with the GAU-8A and got extremely lucky).
