I always want to introduce 'em to the magic of HAM radio. More specifically a 1Kw or higher linear and a beam antenna. Wonderful stuff for making the magic smoke appear from things like car amplifiers.

"Going through" is better than "parking to 'share' for a while". But I hear ya.

This is why I wouldn't put sub-woofers in my car. Regular woofers last longer, have better clarity & have way less sound leakage outside the car. Plus, I know the pain regarding that. My previous backyard neighbours from an inner-city area in SW United States had a really crappy sound system that he played until 3 am sometimes. They had to leave after they got the cops called on them so many times that they couldn't stand it. It's ironic, because no one ever complained about my dad's theatre grade, lean, mean sound machine. Probably because almost every neighbour around us loves classic rock as me & him do. :3

I laugh every time I think about them not understanding. I mean, this is suburban Calgary, Canada. What the Hell were they expecting? Hah hah! XD

These are often rumbling through the trailer park up the road. The stereo equipment is usually worth more than the car in which it's installed.

Bass takes a while to propagate too. They don't even "get the benefit of it.". Everyone else does.

Homemade 'Spike Strips' cured our neighborhood of this tripe.
We'd take turns, waiting, and as soon as the ghetto-thumper(s) turned and began annoying the whole street, we'd pull out our 2x4's with nails hammered through them, across their path.
(Of course, this was done at night, and with a reliable 'Exit Plan'. Flattening someone's tires to annoy THEM, isn't worth being shot.
