Samir the Dallinga Sahash; Tsourai-In-Disguise
"It would have been, shall we say, 'convenient' for me to know they could walk on two legs as well as four from the start. It would have prompted me to put certain things under lock-and-key a little sooner, I think. Really, I should have known, given their nature, but I thought perhaps they would be different from the Grahn in more ways than just their initial appearance. That was a mistake. Nevertheless, it makes a few things easier, actually. For one, going to market is a little less harrowing. Sometimes. At least I don't have to explain bizarre feline behavior. And it's good to have an extra pair of hands or two for work -even if some ingrates seem to resent carrying things.
"...I think Samir irritates me the most, without question. He shoplifted twice, in the same day and had the nerve to tell me he was 'borrowing one of each to compare quality'. They weren't even the same products. That isn't how shopping works, nor has it ever. Needless to say, I wound up paying for both of them to avoid a scene. So now I'm the proud not-owner (he insists they're either his or the shopkeep's since I wasn't interested) of a phonograph (which we don't have any records for) and some weird contraption he claims was invented to cut vegetables into special shapes. ...It cost me half a month's wage.
"Still considering kicking him out specifically.
"...Who am I kidding?"
