I've got a long to-do list to work through but I'm slowly knocking things out
Character: malachlte
I played around a lot with colours in this one, hope that's okay.

hmm, yeah I get that.
Digital painting is a unique kind of hell, I only picked it up because I couldn't do lineart to save my life. I'm glad I did of course, but again, been working on that for probably 7 or 8 years now? My best advice is honestly just try out some different brush settings? I paint with one brush, solid edge, but change up the blending and opacity depending on if I'm putting down colour or blending edges.
i have no advice for background lmao any backgrounds you see me do are 100% bullshitting my way through them

I was thinking of using photoshop cause it's kinda just sitting on my computer
like draw the sketch with SAI and just paint it in photoshop after haha.
unless I can find better SAI brushes for painting.
I'm starting to think alot of people just bullshit their backgrounds cause I can't get
advice really at all hahahah XDDD

The brush I use is actually a custom one I made for SAI, I made it to do something else and it didn't work at all but ended up being a pretty useful brush anyway? I could send it along with some of the settings I use if you want to try it out. Can't promise you'll like it cause it's a little weird to work with, but no harm in trying it out, if you'd like.
I mean I can maybe come up with some tips but it really varies between what you're trying to draw, and I guess where you're at skill wise?
A lot of it is practice, and looking at real life examples of things to kinda see how things owrk? idk im a really bad teacher lmao

Oh wow that would be pretty cool, you can send it in a note if you would like hhh if I can end up doing
anything with it I would thank you up and down in the desc if I upload a drawing haha.
I think for now I just need to study unfortunately x3
I'm not good with set up at all. Nah you're fine, about as good as I am at that sort of thing.

Yeah, portraits like this are some of my favoruite things to work on actually. Not having a complex background or having to fiddle around with legs and such lets me just sketch it up, throw on colour, and finish it really quick. Getting hung up on detail work can be enjoyable sometimes but it definitely feels better to be able to stamp out something in a day or two as opposed to a week or longer.
