The flames around them fell to smoke, but it didn't spare Foresight the burning rage of her commander. She out of the building and down the smoldering, hot, dirt, paths. Deathless sat on a rock, reloading his shotgun beside Max. Lauren and Tessa were checking Circuit; she was with them now, but still seemed shaken by something. She was about to ask, but then Firefight stepped in her way with a scowl.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" He shouted "I told you to stay here and tell Shadow and let her handle it!"
"She'd have taken out the rocketeer then draw the attention of the sniper!" Harley said "I had to make a move to take them both out!"
"And because of that we lost an APC of lives!" Firefight growled
"Then why'd we bring them along?" Foresight growled "We could have finished with out them a before noon!"
"You don't get it, They're not here for us!" Firefight shouted, and then he pointed back to the burning APC "We are suppose to be here for them!"
"So they should have us just do it for them!" Foresight said "They wouldn't have had to die then!"
"Permission to speak." Deathless interrupted
The two stopped and looked the wolf, "Granted" said Firefight
"While you two are arguing over mistakes of the past, Circuit Grit seems to be more focused on the present." He said, and pointed to the young hybrid who passed them and marched into the city. "I think she still is going after Masar still."
"Circuit, Stop now." Firefight ordered, but she still kept walking "That's an order, Circuit!"
Then a dead, monotone rang through all the comes "Eliminate Masar, orders are orders." She kept walking, a gun in hand, and marching into the burning city.
They looked at her surprised, and Firefight turned to their medic "Lauren, Assessment."
"I can't put my finger on it." Lauren said as he walked up to him and Deathless "There's some kind of trigger in her, Something out there got to her I think. She's gonna need a full psychiatric work up."
"Can she still fight?" Foresight asked
"She can't and won't." Firefight said "I'm taking her back with the rest of the surviving soldiers."
"Firefight, we need all the people we can get." Foresight growled "If she can fight and wants too she should!"
"What kind of talk is that after you abandoned our troops just to kill a small party!" Firefight growled
"We're not soldiers!" Foresight said "They've told us that since we were born: We're made to protect the troops and our nation. You know it, and I know it!"
"And Circuit seems to know it better than you both." Deathless said "She's still going after him, I'll keep an eye out for her." And then he walked off with Lauren trailing behind.
Firefight watched them leave, and then looked back to the APC. He paused for a moment, and then looked back to Foresight. "Keep our team here, I need to check with something back at the base.
Foresight nodded and walked over to Max and Tessa.
Firefight got a ride on one of the remaining APCs back to base; where he'd have to report the bad news to their commander, Dalton.
