This is the first finished picture I received of the anthro forms for my two main OCs: Fenwick the Crow and Dorian the Owl. The design and finished artwork of these characters was done by
goosechimera. You can view the original upload here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25086861/. You'll also find various developmental sketches for these two in their gallery, so be sure to check those out. Working with them was a great experience - I can't thank them enough for help with the design.
The pair work for a bird delivery company, which not only handles domestic packages, but also the delivery of messages and items between the wealthy and powerful. Some of the more experienced in the company even do "acquisition", researching and pursuing the whereabouts of artifacts and antiques.
Fenwick (based on an American Crow) is a newer recruit, and has a mischievous, curious and energetic personality. He's often making mistakes or causing trouble, but never out of malice. He's an optimistic and forgiving bird, who wants himself and everyone around him to live life to the fullest. He's also quite emotional and wears his heart on his sleeve. His clothing design is a bit more rustic and his feathers noticeably scruffy. The goggles and scarf are very important to him for sentimental reasons, not as a fashion statement.
Dorian (based on a Great Horned Owl) is the opposite to Fenwick in many ways. An experienced recruit, he's reserved and mature, thinking and observing before acting. He's very reliable and well-respected, both among friends and in the community. However, he comes off as far too serious at times and has trouble expressing his emotions to others, showing weakness or asking for help. He stands firmly by his morals, and fiercely pursues justice. His clothes are a little more refined and expensive than the crow's and his plumage is very well kept.
The two are a surprising but frequent team. When Fenwick first started working with Dorian, the crow did everything he could to get Dorian and himself into wacky situations, saying that he wanted to get the serious and stoic owl to "loosen up". Dorian always resisted of course, and when anyone asked, he'd generally act like he'd never met the crow in his life. Nevertheless, Fenwick persisted and eventually admitted that he really looked up to Dorian and hung around him to learn how to be "great like him".
The two continued to perform deliveries and acquisitions together, until eventually they developed into a team. While Dorian would still only begrudging admit they are friends, the truth is that he would defend Fenwick to the end in a tough situation and sees the crow as an important source of balance in his life. Indeed, their adventures and interactions are all about the back and forth of Fenwick trying to have fun, cause trouble and get the owl to break out of his shell, while Dorian reigns the crow back in and show him the value of thinking things through, showing restraint, and making sure the job is done right. In short, Fenwick is "the heart" and Dorian is "the brains".
