It all started in a galaxy far, far away.. in the original Star Wars movie Han Solo shot the alien Gredo (however it's spelled) in the cantina without the alien getting off a shot. In later versions of the film, Lucas changed the scene where Gredo shot then Han nails him. There was a rather large uproar over the change with t-shirts being made that said, "Han shot first!" to show the fan's ire at the re-imagining.
On FA, someone made a joke concerning the new Harry Potter movie along the same lines with "Voldemort shot first!" then a response of, "Dumbledoor shot first!" and now it has become a sort of mini meme where random battles have the slogan, "_______ shot first!" Mine is in reference to the Battle of the Denmark Sea where the HMS Hood was sunk by the Bismark and where a few days later later the Bismark was sunk. The battle inspired the Johnny Horton song, "Sink the Bismark" http://www.stlyrics.com/songs/j/joh.....ark255440.html
