The hardest part of infection is the propaganda about succubats.
A new host will be there, the same person as always, as their friends and family act like the host just died; grieving the loss of the host right in front of them (or behind their back), or worse, attacking the succubat like they're an impostor.

Things like hazmat suits are not typically very good at defending against, like, fangs. Actual armor plating *can* work, but the tailbone's really hard to armor and still remain flexible enough to walk around in comfortably. A bat can just wiggle under anything that's not comprehensive enough.
They can't infect robots, no.

Hazmat suits are for chemicals and like, radiation. They aren't like, modern body armor. Actual armor can do something.
They can't infect things that aren't alive and that don't have spines. Robots, slimes, and cyborgs who had their back replaced, are all off the table for succubats.

they use steel and lead plates and they are basically called lead suits, usually you dont use people to handle radioactive material for more than 2 minutes at a time even in those suits due to health concerns
medical isotopes are even used at a distance and in lead lined boxes and holders due to the dangerous nature of the material

Well, isn't the hatred or fear of them is there because Succubat hosts actually try to find a way to give their friends Succubats anyway and are sometimes clever about getting them there; while only really kind people won't do that under the impression of "For your own good" or "They'll thank me later." or "They wont mind?"
I think this comment by Ficus on the 4th image might answer your question:

So... this pretty much confirms the second part of my speculation: That it really depends on who they were before the Succubats infect them and that if they were vehemently against them when they do become infected they won't try to infect others and will still help the non-infected stay non-infected, but anyone with a "for their own good" personality will most likely find trickier ways to infect others. So in other words, anybody who was against them in the first place will be the most likely hosts to never try to infect anyone, but will find a hard time convincing anyone that because of the more trickier hosts infecting others anyway. It's even harder with the succubats going around infecting everyone they see in the first place.
