On the 11th day of November 1918, at the 11th minute of the 11th hour of the day, a cease fire was declared on all the active battlefields of eastern France, cease fire which was violated by several Allied units all over the front line. The last known soldier who would have been killed on the battlefields of the First World War would be the German Oberleutnant Erwin Alexander Thomä, officer reservist of the Ulanen-Regiment Nr.19, killed at 12.10 am during an American offensive at Inor. But it's nearly impossible to say who really was the last soldier killed in action of the Great War as France changed the date of death of the soldiers who fell on 11th November to the 10th, as some other armies would also have done, and as German regiments would only report with the grades and names the death of officers and NCOs while soldiers were only reported by numbers.

Hopefully never again among Europeans...
two generation eradicating wars among europeans are enough.
Sadly the rest of the world seems to think Different. Mostly their politicans, lets hope that humanity slowly realizes that they should skip their puny little conflicts over religions, money and power... which is al lthe same to be honest. To finally Act an work together as one species... otherwise the 6. mass extition is imminent.

I do hope that most Europeans have learnt the lesson of the two last wars. So many of them already paid the price of some's ambitions... We already did pay with our blood and our history. I just hope we'll just keep cooperating and trying to not sink even more those in difficulties.
Unfortunately, peace isn't really in human nature... But yes, many conflicts could have been avoided if it wasn't for the greed of some members of the world's elite, everyone know about that but only very few are ready to act against that.

Through the mud and the blood to the green fields beyond."
May these brave men Rest In Peace and never be forgotten by us to history. Even if they are "The Lost Generation" they will never be forgotten.
"Behind every gunsight is a person. We are the knights of the sky, and the rats in the mud. We are the written in legend, and the lost to history. The war is the world, and the world is the war."
Happy Armistice Day.

Thanks B! And well, I'm not exactly sure about they did that but I've got few supposition, but I think it mostly was because of the paperworks or just for the image of the Army toward the people, wouldn't have the best effect if people heard that soldiers were still killing each other on the day of the Armistice. After I'm far from being able to understand the bunch of people who were leading France at the time knowing they were executing soldiers because they couldn't get out of their trenches or because they got lost after an artillery barrage...
