Sonic Forces Avatar - Before and After (Game Thoughts inc.)
Sonic Forces.
It's fully meh territory. I love the avatar stages more than Sonics. They feel more thought out and designed because there's multiple routes only available depending on what weapon you use.
Sonic is just boost your way through to the end. Also, the platforming is horrible at times. Classic Sonic sadly feels shoved in with little thought. Just to say 'Classic is back.' And Infinite had so much promise. Right ideas, bad execution.
If they focused on an even split of avatar and modern Sonic, with the details found in the avatar stages, it probably would have been a lot better. The game was also super short. Basically finished in one gaming session which was disappointing. (1 session is roughly 8hrs on average.) Only had three short stages to complete once I started the second session. Mario Odyssey took me two days to fully beat the main story.
Did I enjoy it? I did but it didn't surprise me as much as I thought.
Was the story good? It was meh. Would've been really good if they didn't drop the ball with Infinite. There were even character connections that were short lived and they expected you to feel something for them.
I actually replayed Generations before Forces came out. Generations felt more thought out. Forces felt rushed. Mania is even better than this.
(I could probably make a full review but probably won't.)
6/10

Hell if ya really wanted too ya can just boost through it in 2 hours it's not like it has much depth the original the character do not steal.... is basically sonic but with less speed and a flamethrower, sonic stages are just a shallow speed running fest considering all ya do is hold boost and ram everyone too death then finish stage in 1 minute then hit goal with s rank and tons of rings, and classic sonic has pretty bad platforming with none of the thought that went into mania its about as dry n barebones as it gets. not even the main villain makes much sense considering how many times infinite is "defeated" over the span of 2 hours despite being faster then sonic according too tails or can spam reality bending powers but somehow getting rammed by sonic does the trick everytime lol so much for the phantom ruby's infinite powers. 4/10
It was an alright game but I do admit that the game was little short. To make the game little bit longer for me , I just go on the extra stages and replay some of the already done levels to get S ranks to get more clothing for my character. Overall at least it was not another Sonic Boom game. Btw I like your custom character.
