The adoptables are a species my wife, Sara Rivas, called Sleiptaurs. They combine elements from different mythical horses.
Such as Alicorns ( Pegasus and Unicorns), centaurs, Sleipnir, Kelpie, Tikbalang, and Nuckelavee! With some versions having some Hippogryph elements.
They meant more to be mounts/rides like living motorcycles with the humanoid torso in the back acting as a backrest/"sissy bar" for the rider.
This was drawn in MLP:FiM art style for simplicity sake.
