So the issue with making subspecies and having made our rarity traits 3+ years ago is we kinda run into the issue of, 'How does one tell something that isn't a rarity trait, from something that is'.... sorry about that >:B;;

Anyway, flared ears aren't actually flared because of fur. It's the ears themselves that are "cut up" like that. So the arctic Shooter subspecies- they have fluffy ears. Their ears aren't "cut up" (Unless you get that uncommon in which case go for it), they just fluffy.
