Brilliant work by
Inert-Ren
I feel compelled to occassionally remind myself that these two characters, despite their expressed differences in personality and design, are essentially the same person. They are duality--a whole more seamless than one might expect--and one cannot exist without the other.
Traurig was my initial 'sona--he was intended to represent and/or caricaturize personality traits and other elements I associated with myself. I soon found, however, that while 'Rig was complete as a character, he was nowhere near a complete representation of me. Vy was initially conceived as a lewd OC (not a 'sona at all) to be used in NSFW art--as 'Rig had become firmly established as a compassionate, sexless creature that I could not bear to ever subject to any debauchery. While Vy initially was developed with minimal self-reference, I soon found that I was ascribing to him as a carrier of all of my "negative" traits--or at least those I felt shame about. I may have subconciously been aware of this at the start, having named him with the shortened, familiar form of 'Vyruem' I'd become used to being addressed-by in chats. Depictions of Vy typically portray him in excessive behavior, if not blatantly licentious; meanwhile, my descriptions for those pieces do not conceal my hostility towards the beast.
Due to his simpler design which lends itself to simpler commissions, I have started to lean towards portraying Vy with a wider breadth of emotion and action beyond lasciviousness and inebriation--though those elements will likely continue to be depicted.
