~And the truth is,
You turn into someone else!
You keep running like the sky is FALLING!
I can whisper, I can tell
But I know, yeah I know, yeah I know
I'm just talking to myself...~
Talking to Myself-Linkin Park
I have worked on this piece ALL DAY. I am so proud of the way it came out! I am mostly a black and white, sketchy, pencil artist. I rarely ink or color my art, so this is huge for me! I'm also improving compared to some old art in my gallery.
Now I have turned this picture digital! I took the time to lineart it, color it, and give it a background. I am still learning to shade, so that will be done another day...
I was listening to Linkin Park today, and it made me feel a little down.
For those of you who don't know, Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time. They are my heroes, namely, the late but great, Chester Bennington.
Chester, he was my hero. He still is and I loved his music and his voice. It would always cure my sadness. His voice and the music he and his band created; they saved my life. They got me to where I am today. I struggle with anxiety (panic disorder and OCD), as well as depression. I also got diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus of the kidneys during college. It didn't help my other two issues I was already dealing with.
But...Linkin Park was always there for me when I needed someone most. They helped me and saved me from myself as well as suicidal thoughts. I never acted on them, because the music always stopped me. I couldn't go until I met them, until I met my saviors and my hero's and thank them for saving me and always being there for me.
And I did.
A few years ago, Linkin Park came to San Antonio, and I was lucky enough to get tickets. Not just that, but I was selected to participate in a meet and greet WITH THE BAND! I was able to come face to face with the band and thank them personally.
Lastly, I meant Chester, my hero. I nearly choked up when I asked for his autograph. I was so nervous and scared when I thanked him for everything he had done for me. I just about died when he gave me a big smile and thanked me back. What really got me and I just about cried, was when Chester, the lead singer of Linkin Park, pulled me close AND HUGGED ME. Which mind you, was not permitted and against the rules!
I just about broke down right there! It was a dream come true and I'll never forget it! Or the concert I went to right after that, the first concert of my life, and it was for my favorite band no less.
These guys mean a lot to me; the band and Chester. Their words help and inspire me. And with that, I produced this piece.
Sorry for all the ramble, if you read it all...Well you are so awesome!!!
