Well I've come up with yet another new alien species. So boys and girls say hello to the Karue. The Karue evolved on a planet called Karven. Karven is roughly three times the size of earth with a thinner atmosphere not as much water. Much of the planet is barren and hostile with some more habitable areas where water is more plentiful. In some places on the planet the temerature can rage from well bellow freezing and up to the boiling point of water and these extremes can go up at higher elevations. Not to mention that ambient radiation is much higher here. The Karue have evolved to survive in this environment. They are capable of going without food or water for one or two months. Longer if they put themselves in a hibernation state. The Karue's exoskeletons are composed a crystalline composite material which is nearly unbreakable. The karue can even survive exposed to space. If given a rebreather they can work in such conditions with ease. The Karue in general are a peaceful people but are by no means pacifist. Their world is rich in ship building materials and that has been used to build a rather large fleet to defend their system. The Karue are also very active in trade. They profit off of selling some of their various ores for ship building. They also have ship yards to build custom ships for clients. The client needs to supply them with the designs and payment. If the ship has features which the Karue find useful they integrate them into their own vessels and lower the price of the ship to the client and often throw in various extras as thanks.

Kran here is a security officer on board one of the many stations in their system. He deals with many things and advises other worlds and such on how to deal with rogues from his own species which cause trouble. However he's scene here on their homeworld on vacation visiting a mountain rage.
