This partial was quite the challenge for me. The state you see him in he's not 100% complete - he will be airbrushed by his owner which will give him the proper Carpet Python markings and which will hide the black vision square as one of the markings. His eyes are follow-me style and his skin is fleece, and rather than a moving jaw he has a flickering tongue, which I neglected to get a picture of. His hands and feet are "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" style, as per the request of the customer, and he has no tail. He was quite fun, but quite difficult. I don't think I'll be attempting any more snakes for a while. He was also done on a tight schedule - he'll be appearing in a couple of weeks at Rocky Mountain Furcon.

Here's a link to a picture from the early construction stage of the head:

As you can see at that stage it wasn't balanced quite right and my brother's nose is being squished by the weight of the python's head. This was corrected by putting padding inside the part that goes on the wearer's head, firmly propping the snake face against the human face - with a good bit of cushioning in between.
For the head rearing back like it seems you're describing, I imagine you would need the part you put your head into to be fairly snug and weighted down to counter-balance the top heavy nature of such a design. The more loose it is around your head, the more it will flop around.
