This was for Period Garments class at uni. The design is inspired by Granny Weatherwax and Victorian mourning dresses. Took all year - we built the whole thing from the ground up including the corset, crinoline, petticoat and all outer garments. All the finishings and stays are in there, there's boning in the bodice as well as heaps in the corset, etc. Madness! the skirt weighs an absolute ton and is nicknamed Mount Doom.

The hat was totally optional. I made that because I couldn't imagine the character without it!
